Class Descriptions.

3 Bridges Yoga offers classes for all levels of practice. We are a drop in studio so you don’t have to preregister for regular classes. Brand new or out of practice students are encouraged to take a beginners class to acquaint themselves with the principles of yoga. 3 Bridges Yoga is recommended for those 18 years of age and older. Classes indicated on the schedule with a * are open to teens ages 14-17 accompanied by an adult. The room temperature is warmed to 75-80 degrees

Yin

Yin Yoga targets our connective tissue, which includes our deep fascial networks, tendons, ligaments, and even bones. By applying gentler pressures that are applied over a longer period of time, our tissue is stimulated to get longer and create more space for our joints. This type of practice is a great way to balance our yang practice and busy lifestyles, in order to achieve optimal health and vitality.

Restorative Flow

Restorative Flow Yoga is a blend of slow moving asana and therapeutic relaxation. Class begins by guiding students gently into postures and breathing at a slower pace, using props as needed to stretch, strengthen and balance. The second half eases the body into a calming release through restorative poses using props and breath; inviting the mind to grow quiet as you move towards a state of equilibrium. The focus is on easeful movement, breath and reducing stress.

Private Instruction

Private classes for you, your family, or special events are available.  We will tailor the practice to your specific needs, including postural alignment and therapeutics, modifications or advanced expressions, and pranayama/meditation as desired.  Please contact us for more information.

Restorative

Restorative yoga is a form of deep relaxation, designed to cultivate a calm mind and a completely relaxed body.  The practice eliminates unnecessary muscular strain while simultaneously releasing tension within the many layers of the body.  Props (blankets, bolsters, blocks) are used to support easeful, passive postures.  Expect energetic renewal and healing restoration.

Intensive or Workshop

Intensive classes and special workshops are anywhere from 2-3 hours in length and will focus in-depth on particular facets of the yoga practice. Different themes, styles, principles, postures will be explored through physical practice, lecture, conversation, asana lab, journaling, crafting, and Q/A depending on each unique offering. Pre-registration is required for all intensives and workshops to reserve your space, and these practices are separate from class cards/monthly unlimited packages. Intensive/workshop offerings will be indicated on the schedule with a $$$ and are non-refundable.

Level II

This class will explore advanced postures like arm balances, inversions and standing balances but will still focus on all the primary principles of 3 Bridges Yoga. This class is not suitable for beginners and students should be practicing for several months at 3 Bridges before attending a Level II class.

Kundalini

Kundalini yoga is defined as the yoga of spiritual awareness, designed to awaken the creative spiritual potential that lies at the sacral point of each human being, inviting that potential to rise to the consciousness of the mind.  Our kundalini classes are appropriate for all Kramas of practice.  They are kriya-based, pairing mudra, pranayama (breath work), mantra, and movement.  This practice is one of purification for the body, clarity for the mind, and strength for the spirit.

Every Body

Open to all levels of practice, but is geared more towards the intermediate yoga level. There will be more variations on postures and class flow and students will be encouraged to deepen their practice. Newer students will be able to modify to their comfort level. Recommended after taking at least 3 beginners classes.

Community

These donation-based, K2 vinyasa-based classes are taught by a rotation of both new and experienced teachers.  Classes are held every Friday at 4 at 3BY Portsmouth.  At the end of each month 3 Bridges will also contribute to the amount raised and give to a charity and/or non-profit organization.  The suggested donation is $10 dollars, but this class is and always will be pay-what-you-can.  Come support our new teachers as well as those organizations in our community who so generously serve.

Beginners

This class will focus on basic postures, alignment and breath and will break down the yoga flow and poses. It will allow students to develop their practice at a comfortable pace while still reaping all the benefits of yoga. This class is also great for more experienced students looking to reconnect to a beginners mind or learn 3 Bridges Yoga principles. Recommended for first timers to 3 Bridges, those learning the practice or those seeking to work on foundations of the practice.

Our mission is to make yoga accessible and affordable with simple options for any level of commitment. We are a drop in studio with plenty of room so there is no need to preregister for regular classes. We do not charge for mat rentals, but encourage bringing your own as your practice develops. No refunds or exchanges on any membership or class package purchases as all sales are final. Class cards are not transferable so each client must have their own class card. There are no extensions or suspensions of unlimited packages for any reason. We accept all forms of payment – cash, check and all major credit cards.

Teacher Membership

$50 a month auto-pay (credit card or bank/checking account required) for unlimited yoga. To qualify for this commitment the yoga teacher must teach at least one public class or private class weekly and present proof of the regular class offering. They must also have completed a 200HR RYT program. Please note Yoga Teacher Memberships do not receive the monthly guest pass and other regular membership benefits due to the already discounted rate. Auto-pay contracts are for one year and require a minimum three month commitment with no prorated or full refunds.

Auto-pay contracts are for one year and require a three-month commitment with no prorated or full refunds. Also note that there is no option to pause or freeze a Student Membership account.
