Letter to the Yoga Community

On

3 Bridges Yoga is excited and proud to be opening our third yoga studio in the Town of York. When we first started 3 Bridges Yoga, the mission was to make yoga accessible and successful for all. It was Yoga for Every Body. We wanted to create our own community of yogis, and make it so that people who had never practiced yoga before would have a place that was welcoming, accessible and safe to give it a try. We wanted people to experience the benefits of a steady yoga practice that have little to do with putting your leg behind your head or standing on your hands. Physical benefits like being stronger, taller, and injury free. Spiritual benefits like being more grounded, connected, present and happier. Walking into a yoga studio takes courage, no matter who you are or where you come from. While our style of yoga is vigorous, physically challenging and will make you more flexible, it is primarily about finding success. The universe cheers when you succeed.

We continue to be grounded in our mission with the opening of our York location. We feel that everybody can and should do some form of yoga, but something else is becoming more apparent to us. Yoga has been around for over 5,000 years, and is constantly growing in popularity. More people are practicing yoga every day, whether at studios, gyms, or even at home. Yoga is everywhere and we believe that it’s going to keep growing. In addition to our principles of making people successful, our mission is to grow the practice of yoga. It’s not just for the bendy and the physically fit. It’s not just for those who can sit cross-legged for hours. Yoga is for Every Body. Imagine a world where more people practice yoga. Imagine more yoga studios than fast food joints. That is our mission. We want to be the change we want to see in the world.

There isn’t one right type of yoga and 3 Bridges certainly isn’t the only place to practice yoga. It wouldn’t be fun or diverse if we were. Look at all the great options for yoga here on the Seacoast. Try them and find the one that is right for you. Or, be like Piscine in the book Life of Pi – love them all! Our little corner of the world is becoming a better place to live. Hopefully you are happier, feel better in your body, and live life filled with gratitude. If you are not, get on the mat and listen to your yoga teacher.

We believe the universe has led us to York and we will continue to trust its guidance in the future. Who knows what the future holds? The number of people who practice yoga isn’t finite. Yoga is infinite and connects us to that which is infinite. We want to make 3 Bridges Yoga the best we can make it for our students and our teachers by being true to our mission and principles. 3 Bridges Yoga is an accessible, welcoming and non-assuming yoga studio focusing on student success and growing the practice of yoga. Every day we look forward to serving our community through this life changing practice.
